Conversation, reminiscence, table games, jigsaws and support from our trained volunteers are our standard offering in our cafes. Teas and coffees (at a nominal charge), cool drinks and biscuits are always available.
Friday is the busiest of the two cafés. As well as the normal table games, we also run a games session in the adjacent Church Hall, where we have table tennis, seated curling and pool tables.
We run weekly carers meetings, facilitated by an experienced volunteer, which gives carers the opportunity to support each other and share experiences. During this time, those living with dementia are supported by our volunteers.
Other activities that we offer on a monthly basis during a Friday café include our Poetry Group, ‘Skiddling’, Art and crafts Groups and the much-loved Singing Sessions.
Our Magic Table is available to use, offering a range of interactive games and activities. Light projections respond to hand and arm movements, increasing movement, physical and cognitive interaction, and encourages social engagement.
We can usually offer informal advice to carers regarding applying for state benefits and Blue Badges, and assistance with IT skills such as accessing the internet, emailing and avoiding scams.

Our cafes are free to attend, and open to anyone living with dementia. Please note; it is a requirement that those living with dementia must be accompanied at all times.
Please book a place at a café by contacting our Organisers – click on ‘Contact Us’ for contact details.
Open from 10am to 12.30pm every Friday of the year except for bank holidays
