Wymondham dementia support group were proud to launch today its publication of ‘Poems from our hearts’, an anthology written by members, carers and volunteers reflecting their personal experiences of dementia.
We are delighted to announce that following an award of £2,800 on the 24th February from the Norfolk Dementia Fund that our new Dementia Café ‘The Monday-Monday Club’ which opened on a trial basis once per month in January will now open every Monday from 4th April 2016 (more details can be found in the ACTIVITIES menu). Additionally, some of the funding will be used to further develop our Dementia Friendly Garden.
The garden project has been developing rapidly throughout the winter under the direction and hard work of Tony Shead and Rob Skegg and wonderful support from the Wymondham Fire Service, Norwich & Peterborough Building Society staff and our own members and volunteers. A great deal of planting has been done and we are planning to be part of Wymondham Open Gardens this spring.
What a year it has been for Wymondham Dementia Support Group with so many developments and an ever increasing membership; at the time of writing we have 60 couples who regularly enjoy our activities at the Pabulum Café, The Pabulum Picture Palace and our new and thriving Sports and Leisure Club held in the Church Hall.
